Code Purple- Alcohol EAP Immediate Steps

Investigate

• Assess the situation.  The person may be too intoxicated if:
  • They cannot stand or walk without difficulty
  • Passed out, and not easily woken
  • Difficulty speaking/ slurred speech/ disoriented
  • Obnoxious and unruly
  • Violent or threatening
  • Reported to have consumed a large quantity of alcohol
• If the guest is near/at a bar trying to order more, - get the attention of the server and instruct them to hold off on taking their order while waiting for MOD/Security as you believe they should be cut off.

Communicate

• Go to the MOD/Security channel.  Let them know you have a Code Purple and the location you are at with the individual.  
• If Guest requires medical attention (hurt themselves, too intoxicated to stand/walk) contact Aquatics (510) if available for a Code 2/3 due to a Code Purple. 
• If at any point the Guest becomes belligerent or threatens violence, notify the MOD/Security that the situation has turned to a Code Green Emergency. MOD/Security must be made aware of the Guest's demeanor upon their arrival to the location. For Full Code Green SOP Click Here
