Code Orange EAP Immediate Steps

Investigate

  •  Assess the situation
    • What type of chemical was exposed?  Liquid?  Powder?  Gas?
    • Can you smell it?  Taste it in the air?  Are you having a physical reaction to the chemical?
    • How much has spilled?
    • Did any chemical get on you or others?
    • Any PPE available on the scene?
  • If a Guest or other Pack Members is near the chemical spill, ask them to vacate the area.

Communicate

  • On Engineering channel, call for 910 to the scene.  An Engineering Manager will need to be notified as well as the MOD.  Together they will determine if the Fire Department needs to be called based on the amount and type of chemical exposure.
  • If Guest or Pack requires medical attention, ensure Aquatics (510) is on their way with a medical kit for a Code 2 or 3.

React

  • Observe from a safe distance until Engineering arrives.
  • Do not engage with the chemical or area of the spill without wearing appropriate PPE.
  • If at any point you feel your safety is at risk leave the area, alerting any management arriving to scene if you have had to leave due to your/others safety.
