Code Purple- Alcohol EAP MOD Immediate Steps

Investigate

  • Assess the situation.  The person may be too intoxicated if:
    • They cannot stand or walk without difficulty
    • Passed out, and not easily woken
    • Difficulty speaking/ slurred speech/ disoriented
    • Obnoxious and unruly
    • Violent or threatening
    • Reported to have consumed a large quantity of alcohol
  • If the Guest is near/at a bar trying to order more, do not allow the individual to do so.

Communicate

  • If you arrive on scene as the only responder, call for additional assistance.
  • If Guest requires medical attention (hurt themselves, too intoxicated to stand/walk) contact Aquatics (510) if available for a Code 2/3 due to a Code Purple. Click Here for Code 1,2,3, Procedures. 
  • If at any point the guest becomes belligerent or threatens violence, immediately call 911.  Then go to ALL CALL and call out Code Green Emergency.  Click Here for escalated MOD steps.  

React

  • If person under the influence is a minor, the guardian of the individual should be contacted. 
  • Determine if Guest has recently been served any alcohol on site.
